You can’t really talk about fell walking from Ambleside without mentioning Loughrigg. With a view of it from our roof terrace, a relatively easy climb, great views and lots of different route options it really is one of our favourites. The start point in easy, leave your car in our car park, stroll through Rothay Park and away you go. Next you have to decide where you want end up and which of the beautiful tarns and lakes you want to see during your walk. Once you are up on Loughrigg you will be able to take in views of Rydal water, Grasmere lake, Lily tarn, Loughrigg tarn and other smaller tarns along the way. And decide whether you want to come back down into Grasmere, Rydal, Skelwith Bridge or Elterwater. They all have their highlights and nice cafe’s or pubs to refuel in.
